Graduate Geologists/Civil Engineers

We are looking for Graduate Geologists or Civil Engineers to join the team across all of our offices in the coming year. You will currently be in your final year at university or have recently graduated and are looking for a role within the Geotechnical and Environmental Consultancy Industry. The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate a thorough knowledge of their own subject and a proven ability to deliver. 


  • Visit sites that may or may not be due for development/redevelopment as well as active construction sites to compile site visit notes;
  • Onsite ground water, gas vapour and dust sampling using specialist monitoring equipment;
  • Supervise Shell and Auger, Rotary and Windowless Drilling rigs;
  • Hand excavation for foundation inspection pits and/or hand augering shallow soil samples;
  • Log soils and rocks to BS5930;
  • Analyse and interpret geological and geotechnical data;
  • Prepare various technical reports including Phase 1 Desk studies.


  • IT literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to use other technical programmes - although training will be given on all applications used by LEAP;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills - the role involves producing technical reports;
  • Able to log both soil and rock.

All graduates are expected to become members of their chosen professional body under guidance from other members of staff and record CPD as part of their training.

  • Working towards or has recently completed a degree in BSc/BEng or MSc/MEng, Engineering Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, Soil Mechanics or Civil Engineering;
  • At least one science A-Level, AS-Level Maths (C grade minimum);
  • GCSE English and single subject science (minimum grade B).
