Eurocode Compliance

Overview

2.1_overview.jpg

LEAP has a wealth of experience and knowledge in managing and supervising intrusive site investigations of any scale. Their knowledge of a vast number of investigative techniques and compliancy with Eurocode 7 requirements has enabled LEAP to stay on top of all new regulations and developments that are being enforced in the modern world of Geotechnical and Geo-environmental Engineering.

Description

LEAP was assigned as principal contractor to manage a Eurocode compliant intrusive site investigation at a Sewage Treatment Works in Kent, to establish geotechnical parameters for analysis of settlement issues that had arisen around existing balancing ponds and tanks. The area of investigation was focused towards the northern end of the site on a flat lying previously reclaimed section of land which had been built up from the surrounding estuary and was surrounded by marsh land. Shell and Auger drilling, machine excavated trial pitting and CPT probing across the site, made sure that a sufficient amount of sampling and testing was undertaken and LEAP was able to provide the client with an abundance of useful factual data.

LEAP Solution

Using LEAP’s own team of dedicated field engineers, project engineers and approved sub-contractors, LEAP successfully undertook utility mapping, topographical surveys, Shell and Auger drilling with thin walled sampling, CPT probing, and a number of machine excavated trial pits, all to Eurocode 7 specifications. This enabled the client to accurately interpret the Eurocode 7 compliant factual information that LEAP had provided.

By working closely with the client and understanding their needs for the information supplied, LEAP was able to provide the correct information to successfully analyse possible causes behind the settlement issues.
